Show vs Tell

Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God for you in Christ Jesus.

1 Thessalonians 5:18

Gratitude is more than saying thank you. The true depth of gratitude is revealed when it shapes how we live, speak, and act. Real gratitude compels us to steward the blessings we’ve received whether that’s time, talents, relationships, or resources in ways that bring life and blessing to others. It’s one thing to feel appreciative, but genuine gratitude calls us to move beyond feelings into action. To be truly thankful is to put our appreciation to work building, creating, serving, and multiplying good in the world. Life is overwhelmingly abundant. Even in seasons of lack or difficulty, there is always something God has entrusted to us an opportunity, a relationship, a skill, or even just another day of life itself. The way to enjoy and honor that abundance is not to hoard it or hide it away, but to put it into motion for God’s glory. In this place, in this moment, you are a vital steward of God’s goodness. Gratitude is not passive it is an active response that transforms blessing into impact. When you choose to live thankfully, you also choose to live purposefully.

Prayer

Father in heaven, Thank You for the abundance of blessings in our lives—both big and small. Forgive us for the times we’ve taken them for granted or held them too tightly. Teach us to put our gratitude into action by serving others, multiplying good, and living with joy. May we be faithful stewards of what You’ve entrusted to us, using it all for Your glory. In Jesus name, AMEN!

Gratitude is not only the greatest of virtues, but the parent of all the others.
