So Long Pride

But He gives us more and more grace through the power of the Holy Spirit to defy sin and live an obedient life that reflects both our faith and our gratitude for our salvation. Therefore it says, God is opposed to the proud and haughty, but [continually] gives the gift of grace to the humble [who turn away from self-righteousness].
James 4:6

Ego is heavy baggage, and carrying it around keeps you from walking freely in who God created you to be. Your ego won’t solve problems or make you stronger. At best, it distracts you; at worst, it blinds you. But when you lay down your ego, something powerful happens. Fear begins to fade, anxiety loosens its grip, and you can see clearly what truly matters. Scripture reminds us that. Letting go of ego is not about shrinking yourself, it is about stepping into God’s greater grace. The more you cling to ego, the more you shrink your world. The more you cling to humility, the more room God has to move in you and through you. Drop the smallness of ego, and discover the bigness of His plans.

Prayer

Father in Heaven, pride keeps tripping us up, but today, we’re dropping the baggage. Take our ego off our shoulders and replace it with Your grace. Teach us to walk lighter, to serve with sincerity, and to see the bigger picture. Where we’re tempted to prove ourselves, remind us You’ve already approved us. Where we’re tempted to grasp for control, teach us to rest in Your hands. Let our lives reflect not our smallness, but Your greatness. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
