Love Gives
Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins.
1 Peter 4:8
Hurting someone else won’t heal your own pain, and turning on yourself won’t make things better either. When disappointment and frustration rise whether with yourself, others, or life in general the temptation is to lash out, withdraw, or try to even the score. But none of that leads anywhere good. The only way to truly move forward is through love. Love is not soft or weak it’s courageous, intentional, and powerful. Forgiveness is often the first step: forgiving others, forgiving yourself, and surrendering the past to God’s hands. Love gives you the ability to walk through pain without letting pain become the driver of your decisions. Every moment offers a choice. You can multiply the pain, or you can choose to be part of God’s healing work in and through you. Fill your heart with His love and let that love shape your responses. It may not be easy, but it’s always worth it.
Prayer
Father in Heaven, you see every hurt and every wound. Forgive us for the times we’ve let pain turn into pride or resentment. Today, we choose love. Teach us to forgive quickly, to speak gently, and to see others the way You see them. When we feel weak, fill us with Your strength. When we feel wronged, fill us with Your grace. Let love win the battles inside us and around us. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
You don’t heal by hurting back.
