Embrace the Effort
He who tills his land will have plenty of bread, but he who follows worthless things lacks common sense and good judgment.
Proverbs 12:11
Much of life’s meaning comes from the time, effort, and intention you invest. What costs you nothing often enriches you nothing. God did not design life to be effortless He designed it to be meaningful. The hard things you face are not proof that God has left you; they are opportunities for you to grow, stretch, and become more like Christ. Every challenge carries a chance to bring your best, to serve with purpose, and to discover strength you did not know you had. When you expect something for nothing, the return is always small. But when you pour yourself into the moments God gives you, the reward multiplies beyond anything you could earn. Instead of feeling weighed down by how much work you have to do, see the privilege in being someone God can trust with responsibility. Joy rises when you embrace the effort, not resent it. Life becomes deeply good when you give yourself fully to what God has placed in your hands.
Prayer
Father in Heaven, thank You for trusting us with work that matters. Forgive us when we complain about the very things that grow us. Fill us with joy for the tasks in front of us and enthusiasm for the opportunities You place in our hands.
Teach us to see effort as a blessing and to give ourselves fully to whatever honors You. Strengthen our minds, steady our hearts, and let our work reflect Your goodness in all we do. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
You cannot live a meaningful life without meaningful work.
