Choose Depth Over Distraction

But the Lord replied to her, ‘Martha, Martha, you are worried and bothered and anxious about so many things; but only one thing is necessary, for Mary has chosen the good part [that which is essential], which will not be taken away from her.

Luke 10:41–42

The world offers endless distractions, but there is only one authentic you. Bright screens, gossip, noise, and constant updates promise stimulation yet deliver emptiness. Distraction feels harmless, but it quietly steals what is most valuable, your time, your focus, and your purpose. God did not create you to drift through shallow moments; He created you to live deeply, intentionally, and meaningfully. When you release the shiny but empty distractions, you make room for what truly matters; thought, creativity, connection, and growth. Your days are filled with priceless moments meant to be lived, not scrolled away. Choose to honor the gift of your time. Fill your life with experiences that strengthen your heart, sharpen your mind, and align your spirit with God’s purpose. Let go of what drains you, and step into the joy of living with substance, clarity, and intention.

Prayer

Father in Heaven, free us from distractions that drain us and lead us toward what truly satisfies. Teach us to choose depth over noise and purpose over passivity, so our lives reflect joy, meaning, and intention. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Depth is chosen when distraction is released.
