Don’t Rush the Moment
Also it is not good for a person to be without knowledge, And he who hurries his footsteps errs [makes mistakes].
Proverbs 19:2
It is better to pause than to rush into regret. God is never in a hurry, yet He is always on time. When you speed past the present trying to arrive at the future faster, you often sacrifice quality, wisdom, and peace along the way. Before reaching for what’s next, God invites you to fully receive what is now. Waiting is not wasted time when it is lived with intention. The value of any moment is not determined by your location or activity, but by the attention and meaning you choose to bring to it. When you rush, you lose the ability to give your best to where you are. Slowing down allows you to work carefully, love deeply, and live faithfully. God meets you in the present, not in the anxious hurry toward what’s ahead. Treasure this moment. It is far too valuable to speed past.
Prayer
Father in Heaven, slow our pace when our hearts race towards what’s next. Teach us to value presence over progress and faithfulness over speed. Quiet the urge to rush and help us give our full attention to the moment You have placed before us. Let us work carefully, love deeply, and live wisely right here, trusting that You will guide what comes next. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
God does His best work in unhurried hearts.
