By Intention
But each one must carefully scrutinize his own work [examining his actions, attitudes, and behavior], and then he can have the personal satisfaction and inner joy of doing something commendable [without comparing himself to another]. For every person will have to bear [with patience] his own burden [of faults and shortcomings for which he alone is responsible].
Galatians 6:4–5
Living by intention is a choice we make before the moment demands a response. When we live reactively, we allow circumstances, emotions, and the opinions of others to steer our lives. But intentional living places responsibility back where it belongs in our hands, under God’s guidance. It calls us to choose our actions thoughtfully rather than letting negativity or pressure decide for us. This kind of life is not always easy, comfortable, or popular. It requires discipline, clarity, and the courage to let go of excuses. Yet it is the path that leads to meaning and growth. Living intentionally allows us to be fully present today while still building toward what God is unfolding tomorrow. When we steward our choices with purpose, we begin to release the unique goodness God has placed within us not just for ourselves, but for the good of others.
Prayer
Father in Heaven, today we will choose to live with intention, not reaction. Help us take responsibility for our choices and align our lives with Your direction. Give us wisdom to walk purposefully, courage to release excuses, and faith to trust You with what we’re building. Shape our days so they reflect Your purpose and bring You glory. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
Purpose grows when excuses are laid down.
