We Still Get to Choose
Never repay anyone evil for evil. Take thought for what is right and gracious and proper in the sight of everyone. If possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone.
Romans 12:17–18
Life does not always cooperate with our expectations. Plans shift. People disappoint. Outcomes fall short. Yet Scripture consistently reminds us that our responsibility is not to control circumstances, but to steward our response. We cannot always decide what happens to us, but we can decide who we become through it. When others fail to act as we hope, we still have the power to lead with love and integrity. When support feels thin, faith can remain strong. The future is not shaped primarily by what we are given, it is shaped by how we choose to move forward. God has entrusted us with the ability to think, act, forgive, persist, and create. Fulfillment is not found in perfect conditions; it is built through faithful decisions. No matter what today delivers, we still get to choose courage, character, and purpose.
Prayer
Father in Heaven, when life does not unfold the way we hoped, steady our hearts. Help us choose integrity over frustration and love over reaction. Strengthen us to move forward with peace, even when circumstances are imperfect. Guard our thoughts, guide our attitudes, and shape our actions so they reflect Your character. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
Integrity is chosen, not given.
