Stay When It Gets Hard

Therefore, my beloved brothers and sisters, be steadfast, immovable, always excelling in the work of the Lord [always doing your best and doing more than is needed], being continually aware that your labor [even to the point of exhaustion] in the Lord is not futile nor wasted [it is never without purpose].

1 Corinthians 15:58

There is a quiet strength in staying. Not everything in life requires a new direction. Some seasons require deeper commitment to the same one. When things become difficult, the instinct is often to step back or disengage, yet strength is often formed in remaining. To keep showing up, to keep doing what is right, to keep building what matters. Faithfulness is not always exciting, but it is always effective. What feels slow is often steady. What feels repetitive is often forming something durable. Staying is not settling. It is strengthening.

Prayer

Father in Heaven, give us the strength to remain when it would be easier to step away. Help us stay grounded in what You have called us to, even when it feels difficult or unnoticed. Build in us a steady commitment that does not depend on how we feel but rests in what we know is right. In Jesus’ Name, AMEN!

Strength is often found in staying, not changing.
