Own What Is Yours

You cannot control everything that happens today, but through Christ, you can take responsibility for how you respond. You may not control another person’s attitude, an unexpected interruption, a disappointing outcome, or the timing of an answer. But you can control where you place your attention, how faithfully you complete your work, and whether your words reflect the character of Jesus. Peace begins when you stop trying to manage what belongs to God and start faithfully managing what He has placed in your hands.

Jesus never allowed the pressure around Him to determine the purpose within Him. His life was not controlled by the loudest voice in the crowd, but by the will of His Father. That same clarity is available to you today. Do not waste your strength wrestling with what you cannot change. Bring it to Christ, place it in His hands, and return your attention to the responsibility in front of you. You may not be able to solve the entire problem today, but you can take the next faithful step. You can make the necessary call, finish the important task, apologize for the wrong attitude, encourage someone who is struggling, or quietly do what you know is right. Responsibility is not a burden when it is surrendered to Jesus. It becomes worship. Focus on what God has assigned to you. Give it your full heart. Trust Christ with the results. Faithfulness today becomes the foundation for the future God is preparing. Release what belongs to God. Recognize what belongs to you. Refocus your attention on what matters. Respond with the character of Christ. Complete the next faithful step.
