Leave Room for Joy

A happy heart is good medicine and a joyful mind causes healing, but a broken spirit dries up the bones.

Proverbs 17:22

Joy is not something you stumble into accidentally. It is something you make room for. Life can become so crowded with pressure, urgency, and responsibility that you slowly forget how to delight in what is good. Yet God did not design you merely to survive your days. He created you with the ability to experience gratitude, laughter, beauty, and connection. Joy strengthens the heart in ways constant stress never can. This does not mean ignoring hardship or pretending everything is perfect. It means refusing to let heaviness become the permanent atmosphere of your life. Joy often returns through simple things. Slowing down. Sharing time with people you love. Noticing beauty instead of rushing past it. A joyful heart restores strength because it reminds you that life is still filled with God’s goodness.

Prayer

Father in Heaven, restore joy where weariness has settled in. Help us slow down enough to recognize the beauty, kindness, and goodness You place around us each day. Teach us to receive joy as a gift from You and not allow pressure to crowd it out of our lives. In Jesus’ Name, AMEN!

Joy strengthens what stress tries to drain.
