Make Room for Wonder

The heavens are telling of the glory of God; and the expanse [of heaven] is declaring the work of His hands.

Psalm 19:1

Life moves quickly, and it is easy to become so focused on responsibilities that you stop noticing the beauty surrounding you. Yet God has filled creation with reminders of His greatness. A sunrise, a changing season, a clear night sky, the laughter of a child, a moment of unexpected kindness, these are not distractions from life. They are invitations to remember the goodness and creativity of the One who made it all. Wonder recalibrates the soul. It lifts your eyes above immediate concerns and reminds you that God is larger than your current challenge. The world becomes smaller when all you see are your problems. It becomes healthier when you remember the greatness of the God who holds it together. Sometimes one of the most spiritual things you can do is slow down long enough to notice what God has already placed around you.

Prayer

Father in Heaven, open our eyes to Your goodness in the world around us. Help us not rush past the reminders of Your presence that surround us each day. Fill our hearts with gratitude, wonder, and a deeper awareness of Your greatness. In Jesus’ Name, AMEN!

Wonder expands where gratitude is practiced.
