The Strength of Humility

Humble yourselves [with an attitude of repentance and insignificance] in the presence of the Lord, and He will exalt you [He will lift you up, He will give you purpose].

James 4:10

Humility does not mean thinking less of yourself. It means thinking of yourself accurately before God. Pride often convinces people they must prove themselves, defend themselves, or elevate themselves. Humility creates freedom from that exhausting cycle. It allows you to learn, grow, apologize, and receive correction without feeling threatened. God consistently works through humble people because humility leaves room for His guidance. A humble heart remains teachable and responsive. It recognizes that every good gift ultimately comes from God. The strongest people are often the ones who no longer need to be the center of every conversation, every victory, or every decision.

Prayer

Father in Heaven, cultivate humility within us. Protect us from pride that blinds us and keeps us from growing. Help us remain teachable, grateful, and aware of our need for Your wisdom. Let our lives reflect a quiet confidence rooted in You rather than in ourselves. In Jesus' Name, AMEN!

Humility creates space for God to do His deepest work.
