Enough Light for the Next Step
Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.
Psalm 119:105
We often want God to illuminate the entire road when He has promised enough light for the next step. That can feel uncomfortable because we prefer certainty, timelines, and clearly marked destinations. Yet Scripture frequently teaches us to walk by faith rather than complete visibility. God's Word becomes a lamp because it gives direction when feelings are unreliable and circumstances are confusing. You may not know exactly what the next six months hold, but you can know how God calls you to live today. You can choose love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness and self-control. Often the direction you have been asking God to reveal becomes clearer while you are faithfully walking in what He has already shown you. You do not need a floodlight on the future when the One holding the lamp is walking beside you.
Prayer
Father in Heaven, quiet our demand to know everything before we obey anything. Give us confidence in Your Word and attentiveness to Your voice. Where the road ahead feels uncertain, make us faithful with what is already clear. Lead us one decision at a time and deepen our trust in the wisdom of Your direction. In Jesus' Name, AMEN!
God may not show the whole road, but He never leaves you without light.
