Kindness Has a Long Reach

Be kind and helpful to one another, tender hearted [compassionate, understanding], forgiving one another [readily and freely], just as God in Christ also forgave you.

Ephesians 4:32

Kindness can seem small because it rarely arrives with applause, yet its influence can travel much farther than we realize. A patient response, an unexpected favor, a thoughtful message, or a willingness to forgive can alter the atmosphere around another person. Christian kindness is deeper than simply being pleasant. It grows from remembering how generously God has treated us in Christ. We extend grace because we have received grace. We forgive because we know what it means to be forgiven. We notice people because Jesus continually noticed people others overlooked. You cannot control the attitude another person brings into a room, but you can decide what you will add to it. In a culture quick to criticize and slow to understand, ordinary kindness becomes an unmistakable reflection of an extraordinary Savior.

Prayer

Father in Heaven, make our hearts tender toward the people around us. Keep us from becoming so hurried or self-focused that we overlook opportunities to show Your love. Remind us of the mercy we have received through Christ and let that mercy overflow naturally through our attitudes, conversations, and choices today. In Jesus' Name, AMEN!

Kindness doesn’t need a spotlight to make a difference.
